Nuestro instituto fue representado por alumnado que lleva ya varios cursos participando en la Asociación de Debate Averroes (ADA), y en concreto fueron alumnos de 1º de Bachillerato A: Clara Pérez, Marcos Alcolea y Miguel Raya. Todos los equipos habían de prepararse la postura tanto a favor como en contra, y en esta edición nuestro alumnado se enfrentó a los centros Colegio Séneca, IES Trassiera e IES Eloy Vaquero en tres rondas durante toda la mañana. Aunque no consiguieron pasar a Cuartos de Final -un logro realmente difícil pues de 51 centros participantes en nuestra provincia (más del doble el año pasado) solo se clasificaban 8, el objetivo era aprender a enfrentarse a la expresión oral, la defensa de argumentos, construir ideas complejas, investigar sobre un tema y practicar el trabajo en equipo. Es la segunda vez que nuestro instituto participa en este Torneo de Debate Educativo. Les acompañó como formador el profesor Gonzalo J. Herreros, y también participaron como jurado del torneo José Ramón Pedraza y Nieves García.
