Durante esta semana la gran Sophie Germain ha visitado nuestro centro con motivo de la celebración del día Internacional de la mujer y la niña en la Ciencia, el 11 de febrero. Dicho día trata de dar visibilidad a las mujeres científicas, a veces silenciadas por la época y la sociedad en las que vivieron. En nuestro caso Sophie contará a alumnado de 1º de ESO y de enseñanzas de adultos, desde su infancia, en la que su padre la castigaba por estudiar matemáticas ya que estaba prohibido para las mujeres estudiar ciencia, pasando por su adolescencia, donde se hizo pasar por un hombre para poder cartearse y trabajar con dos grandes matemáticos de su época, hasta su aportación a la ciencia, siendo la primera mujer en formar parte de la Academia de las Ciencias Francesa, y doctora honoris causa por la Universidad de Gotinga, además de hacer una demostración parcial del último Teorema de Fermat en la que intervienen los números primos que llevan su nombre.
